Damson Design

Background

Damson Design was set up by Nicola Hills as a landscape design practice based in the Lyth Valley in 2004.

Since then, the practice has designed and project managed both private and commercial landscape schemes including gardens and new lake for Close Farm Conference Facilities for Iggesunds Paper Board near Cockermouth, and gardens for the award winning Royal, Bowness-on-Windermere.
More recently, since Damson Design became incorporated, they have designed the public realm and landscaping for the new Booths store and public square in Garstang.

In September 2007, Tony Hills joined Nicola to form Damson Design Limited, Landscape Designers and Architects.
Tony was formerly partner with Ross Erwin at the Hills Erwin Partrnership and subsequently both were directors of SMC-DTRuk. Within the former practices, Tony had designed award winning schemes including Wainwright’s Yard in Kendal (including new Booths store, apartments and retail units) and The Royal, Bowness (winner of 2008 RICS NW Regeneration award). Tony's design for apartments within a conservation area won the Ripon Civic Trust Award in 2009
Ross Erwin joined Damson Design Limited in June 2008 with his wealth of commercial architectural experience.
With offices at Levens Hall, Kendal and Manchester, the practice is well placed to serve the needs of its long standing Regional and National clients.

Nicola's design for a show garden featuring a Beekeepers Garden won Silver-Gilt at Hampton Court Flower Show 2009.
